Pedestrian Accidents

Pedestrian deaths are second only to occupant deaths in car accidents. Although crossing the street is a skill most people learn at a young age, doing so safely is not something that should be taken for granted; thousands of pedestrians are injured every year. If you are injured in a pedestrian accident, you may be eligible for compensation.

Be sure you get all the information you can about the accident. By obtaining the information below, you will help increase the chance of receiving compensation for your injuries.

  • Secure any evidence available.
  • Find out the names and contact information of witnesses. Witnesses are particularly important because they can provide evidence as to whose negligence caused the injuries.
  • Get the names and insurance information of the driver involved.

In most cases, pedestrians have the right of way. You will, however, be asked whether you used due care in crossing, used proper crossing locations, etc. You should contact a lawyer to help you with your case.

If you or a loved one has suffered an injury or death because of a pedestrian accident, call VanDerGinst Law at 1-866-843-7367 or click here for a FREE online case evaluation. The initial consultation is free of charge. If we agree to handle your injury case, we will work on a contingency fee basis, which means we get paid for our services only if, and when, there is a money recovery for you. In many cases a lawsuit must be filed before an applicable expiration date, known as a statute of limitations. So please call right away to ensure that you do not waive your right to possible compensation.
